Facing dinette in an RB passenger van. Doable?
I like the prospect of a walk through interior but wasn't sure if the width and windows of a passenger van would prevent this type of setup. A captains chair or two would be between the front seats and the dinette. Anyone seen this done? Pros/cons?
Thanks!

Re: Rear facing dinette in an RB passenger van. Doable?
Not quite sure what you're after but a transformer type build can have several windows. As far as seating you'll just loose 20 inches of length compared to a EB. I think it all depends on what you are willing to give up in space that the seats take up. Most walk through builds have the rear dinette that makes into a bed. Look how much room this van has and it has a full bathroom and shower, something most vans don't have.

Four captain's chairs and a dinette with two benches along the sides of the van, or across the van?

Re: Rear facing dinette in an RB passenger van. Doable?
I talked to a couple van buddies regarding RB vs EB and decided the regular body fit my needs best.
Jage, I'm interested in the facing dinette W that runs the length of the van. The 4th captains chair will spend most of its time in the garage, which should give the interior a bit more wiggle room. I've haven't seen this setup in a passenger van despite scouring the forum and gallery. Carving up a cargo van to accomplish this setup seems like a waste of time and money if I'm not interested in cabinets and storage.

It's a lot of seating, if you're using the sideways seating at the same time. If you make the front 4 chairs rotate you can have a table that goes in the center.
If you don't need that much seating, you can do something else behind the captain's chairs.
I'm not clear on what you want, but of course if you wanted the same thing everybody else does you could go buy a stamped out Pleasureway.
For "unique configuration of seats" read about jessenej's build: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4081

If I am following you correctly sounds like you are describing our van, I have pictures from the inside but haven't loaded them on the site yet. But here is the layout

Re: Rear facing dinette in an RB passenger van. Doable?
CascadeWalnut, Yep that's it (minus the galley).
I'm wondering if anyone has tried this dinette layout in a passenger van. There's less width to play with which might defeat the purpose of having a center aisle. Additionally, the dinette seat backs will likely be taller than the base of the windows, which wouldn't be the end of the world provided there's enough room between the dinettes, and the bed could fold out unhindered.
The other option is converting a cargo van, utilize the width and place the windows exactly where I want, but that seems like a whole lotta trouble (and money) to go through for a relatively simple setup. But, if that's what it takes, then that'd be good to know too.
As always, Thanks for the responses.

The inside body width will be the same once you remove the plastic walls.
Your dinette seats will finish the walls.

Thanks Andrew. Aren't there ducts and vents behind the plastic?
