Ford E150 - Modify Cab Headliner Area

Has anyone modified the headliner area on a Ford E-series?
There is a lot of room up there and I'd like to create shelf areas, mount a 2-meter HAM radio, etc... sort of like the Transits ..and other newer vans.
Any ideas.. suggestions??
I've got a 2012 RB Ford with a 16" Sportsmobile Contempo top (Indiana).
It seems like lowering the visor mounts might be the first issue. Also thinking of starting by installing some Noico butyl mat, like I've done in the rest of the cab at different times.

Been done many times. Sportsmobiles come with a shelf there. There used to be an aftermarket option but it was far from perfect.

I did one very early on in my van days. It's here somewhere. I'll see if I can dig it up.

I also just added a few more details to the thread that Twoxentrix linked above. Now it has all the links and pictures other provided to me along with my complete process for building my overhead console/shelf system. Hope it helps!
