North is a small shop compared to West or South and is packed full of builds in progress...your idea is probably not cost effective for them. It simply is not enough "work" to warrant bringing you in unless your willing to pay the install price...as for the 'width' my wife and I sleep on it very comfortably...but we are skinny people. I am 5'8" and 31 inch waist, as wife is 5'2" 26 (?) waist. We sleep extremely well with no feeling of cramping each other or not being able to turn. But, yes, we have cabinets and any wider would not work...SMB does have a 3-4 inch cutout and carpeted 'ledge' that runs parallel to the bed (it is the wall of the van insulated and carpeted) I think you would need to actually lay on a 48' surface to see if you two could/would fit. I think you'll be surprised on how much room there actually is...we don't think too much b/c we like the closeness and we are in "mini-mode" whenever we are traveling in the SMB anyway...good luck and post pics!!
