Gaucho bed support question

Hmmm... I'm trying to wrap my mind around how this support leg is supposed to work mounted as it is to the wall of the under couch storage. The last one I had this leg was mounted to the underside of the pull out bed section and folded down when the cushion was pulled out. Weird

Anyone want to share a pic of how theirs is mounted? Thanks!

I believe that one is mounted so you can lift the bed platform up for access, then pull the leg out to support it in the open position - similar concept that keeps your front hood up so you don't have to hold it.

Right... That makes much more sense Two. I've just only ever seen that leg setup to support the outside of the bed... Maybe that was the weird one. Good to know. Thanks

It is the same on our gaucho bed set up, and it is to support the seat of the couch when gaining access to the locker below.

Yep, it's a prop rod. Mostly I just wanted to say prop rod, because that name cracks me up. However, every person I know (including me) has always called it that. Perhaps it's a southern thing.

Heh Heh... prop rod it is. Seems like my previous gaucho setup's previous owners previously changed it over to a support for the bed once previously deployed.
