Grab Handle for Passenger Side

Have the space above the passenger door window and would like to put some sort of grab handle there. I could just get a strap loop and put it there or a pre-made grab handle for a Jeep with rubber bits on it for the grip but wondering if anyone else might have done something else. In my truck there is a hard plastic one designed by the manufacturer and we use it a lot just to have your right arm in a different position on short and long trips.

Suppose I could go to a pick-n-pull place to see if something out of another truck or car might fit. Trouble is with the C-19 crap going on they will be closed for a while now.

Just wonder what would you do? OR... what have you done?

Thanks

While the factory-style over-molded handles would be great in that location most likely they'd hang down making entry and exit a "watch your head" kinda thing. Just above the door open is a rather substantial body section that could easily accommodate such a grab handle the intruding aspect could be the deal breaker.

This outfit has a selection so have a look at what's possible; https://www.buyersproducts.com/catal...ab-handles-441

Referring back to the body section above the door opening and you decided to use that for mounting strongly consider what many call "plus nuts" or split body rivet nuts---they'd be the best attaching method in that area for such a handle.

If you can rig up an attachment method for a nylon strap or other flexible softer type of grab then you wouldn't have to worry about banging your head on it.

Eddyturn, I've got the standard Ford grab handles installed above both the driver's and passenger's seats. These must have been installed by SMB at the time of the build. As you can see in the photos, they are positioned at an angle so they don't interfere with headroom. As a side note: they are helpful in getting in and out of the rig.

First photo is the passenger's side and second is the driver's...

I’m liking that. I’m liking that a lot.
I just like to hang-on while heading down the road.
