Heatshield or Reflectix for front window? Spend money or DIY

I've cut out Reflectix for all the windows but the front (10 foot roll ran out)

Do I get another $25 roll or purchase a $40 Heat Shield that is pre cut? If they were the same material it would be an easy answer.

Opinions?

I have HeatShields in all my cars. Windshield only in most, but my Excursion has them for every window. BTW, HeatShield typically has templates for many more windows than what they list on their website.

I have the same one as Otter above and it's OK....

I would buy something rather than make it from reflectix mainly because getting a good fit is sometimes tricky.....and that would be the largest panel......where to store it?

I also use pre-cut shades on the front window. The others I just cut out of bulk.

I use reflectix for all our side windows but for the windscreen the roll I had wasn't wide enough so I had to sister two together. The heat melts the tape, it was a huge unwieldy thing to store too so after a year of that picked up that same one otter has, it's been great.

^^^ I did the same thing and used packing tape. its still holding up 3 years later and that thing gets used religiously with our stupid hot summers. sometimes months with triple digits.

main reason I went ahead made mine was I had enough leftover after doing all the other windows.

lay it across the windshield and cut it out like they do tint. super easy and fast.

rolled up mine stores between poptop and mechanism perfectly and can be reached from drivers position. but im sure most don't have that option other than early ccv conversions with the fiberine top.

only issue I have had is that its shrinking slowly. it used to blackout 100%, but its getting smaller and smaller and lets light in on each side now, lol. the one otter posted is really nice looking. once this one fails, I might just pick one of those up.

hey otter, does that screen blackout all light??
