Help - Child/fall proof top bed and side cargo door area

We have a toddler and would love to have her sleep up top or play in the area around the side cargo door.

Looking for ideas on types of barricades you all came up with to keep the lil ones from falling off the top bed or how to keep the side doors open and toddler from falling to the ground.

TIA

Can't speak to the door issue. As for the PH bed, you can have an extension made that fills the rest of the open area. Works like a champ. Kids love it up there.

We used to have this cool little L shaped net thing that we got from some baby store. It had a net on one side and basically forks on the other side. You slid the forks under the mattress and the net kept them in place. It folded flat and small for storage. Not sure if that might help but it was neat and very helpful.

Lance has a great solution for this as an option available with their cabover campers. I installed one in an older Lance years ago when my kids were babies, it worked fantastic!

You might be able to have an upholstery shop make something like that for you, or buy one from Lance and modify it to fit the SMB.

Thanks. Haven't picked a solution yet but like the extra length top bed idea so far.

Re: Help - Child/fall proof top bed and side cargo door area

What happens in the Lance if you fold your kid out the window when trying to have a quick meal?

We used a net across the side doors for Scribbles, a clipped on nylon strapped net would allow the child to fall/push against it and be held, but with an elastic top so you can push down and step over going in and out. I guess you kind of have to evaluate the climbing enthusiasm with this.

I've also seen a playpen used behind the 50 couch seat.

I used to use these to keep the dogs in my VW when I had all the doors open. You simply attach hooks to keep them in place. The VW comes with hooks so you just need to add them
Perfect for bunk also as just put hooks with velcro or adhesive on top and then on bed bottom and both side walls.

I just looked them up for you and don't know how to post the link but here is where they are:

GoWesty.com is the place. I Look under interior accessories and then storage ideas and you will find them as "bungy cord gear hammock" for $11

I used it to keep the dogs at bay.
