Espar D4 (13k BTU) user here to give some input, I've been in the lower teens / strong wind and have been completely comfortable. But I have a fixed hightop and decently insulated.

Well I certainly intend to do some winter camping in this rig. Probably without the kids. If things had been less than optimal I would have put the top down and we could have all slept on the lower bed. But after last weekend, I am much more confident in pushing into lower digits.

Wind is definitely something I have not experienced with the pop top yet. I will certainly head up to Mammoth a few times this winter and I am sure that will be a good test. It gets gnarly windy up there, probably keep the top down if I'm solo.

This is all new to me so thanks! Used to stay in my grandfather's 20' trailer in the winter during deer season, but it had a pretty kicking furnace.
