Molded front floor mat recommendations

Mine are Highlands, thick rubber but flexible, unlike Husky. I got mine on eBay a couple of years ago for about $50. They don't move & catch everything. I love them.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

Ford switched the size and shape of their dog house somewhere in the production cycle. I know mine is a first generation doghouse. I think they made the switch somewhere around '95 or '96. When I'm out junkyarding I can tell the difference by the way the cup holder tray mounts.

Maybe the Huskys are designed for the new model doghouse. There are a lot more of the newer model vans on the road. Body style stayed the same for years and years but there were minor interior changes. Seats being one of the biggest. I actually have room for a drivers left armrest mounted on the seat.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

When the snow melts off or the mud runs off your boots the Husky Liners hold the water “Inside” the mat better than any other brand. The WeatherTech All-Weather floor mats let the water drain off and under the mat. The WeatherTech are thicker (Not good under the pedals) but do feel more like rubber than the Husky Liners do.

Molded front floor mat recommendations

+1 on the Husky.

They fit really well (custom form molded) and keep everything within the mat with its raised edge.

I bought them a couple of years after my build, +/- 5 years (and over 100,000 miles) and still going strong.

Molded front floor mat recommendations

I'm not against the Huskys or anything, but the Highlands ones I have keep stuff in too. They have about a .5 to .75 raised edge and unless you have really seriously snowy or muddy feet, they do fine. Anyways, I haven't seen them anywhere lately so they may be hard to find.
Mines an 02 if that helps anyone. Not sure if there is more than one design for older years.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

Thanks to everyone for the help and suggestions.
Ordered the Husky Liners from JC Whitney for $79. When the package arrived I found it didn't come from JC Whitney but was drop shipped.

Straight out of the box.

I was installing new carpeting so the seats and doghouse have been removed.

The reason I wanted the custom molded style was because of the driver side foot hump. This model of mat does give good hump.

My one complaint is the height of this lip. I can see where this would come in handy in deep snow or mud but it's overkill for me. Once I get a chance to use them there will be some trimming down of the edge where I find it catching my feet.

This marks one project off my list but seeing the final results makes me add another. I think I'll try to cover the doghouse with the same carpet just used on the cockpit floor to improve it's looks. Since it's far from flat, that will take some work. Lot more needs done on the van first so that project goes to the bottom of the queue.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

Those huskys look like a good fit. You could always throw some rattlecan paint at the doghouse to freshen it up till you carpet.

I've heard $50 worth of rattle can paint goes a long way.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

Since I've the spray gun and all the trimmings wonder if NAPA does color matching. Then again the doghouse is plastic so I don't know if auto paint would stick.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

Lol Gnarvan! I bet there are school buses out there painted with less than $50 of rattle can.
WVvan, I like em, i'm also wondering if you ever found the Highlands ones like I have? I haven't seen them around but haven't looked either. Maybe you could get some of that textured spray paint from Lowe's that would kind of be like Rhino Liner on your doghouse? I could swear I've seen it in a pattern similar to your carpet.
