Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

Ya here are the Highland mats. I believe I'm going to give these a try. Nice price too.

If you do paint the dog house don’t forget to clean it with something like Tri-Sodium Phosphate (T.S.P.) and then prime it with some kind of “adhesion promoter” and it will last a long time.

This video gives you a good idea of how to paint interior parts even if you don’t use the same brand of products. The painting starts at about the 3 minute mark in the video.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

The Husky's are nice but I wish they were made like the Highlands out of a more rubber type material. Mine move and have warpped a bit over the years. Sometimes I catch my big feet on the lip climbing in but I do like how they catch and contain all the crap I drag in. I zip tied mine to the seat to keep it in place.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

Just got in my Highlands based on 86Scotty recommendation and pic. Paid more than the partsbin link 'cause I was too impatient to search. Wanted black but got the dark gray ones which are plenty good enough. Gotta say they are much better than expected! Thanks Scotty!

The Husky looks like a bad@ss product, but I couldn't go the checkerplate route 'cause it would clash with my Johnsonite round, spaced coin flooring. Husky covers the fenderwell hump, where Highland splits there, but the wall-height and supple rubber of the Highland is my preference.

Yup, I said "clash" and "supple" in the same post... sorta metrosexual ain't I

I'll have to remember that trick. Agree that the heavy rubber is the preferred material but wanted that molded fit.

Now all you need is a SMB with an interior to put the mats in so you can display your ability to accessorize.

Wow, take it easy you two..

You are using too many of those big words that I have to try and figure out..

Those words are bigger than Marc's head.

I am still trying to figure out just what a Dirt Bag Ground Up Home Built is.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

Dont like the idea of having my feet sitting in a pan of water. Much less salted water when the snow really flies. Seems like it would be a pain in the a** to empty them. Here in Michigan we can get lots of snow. I'd think that as my snow covered boots melt, it would become a puddle that has to be emptied.

I have had them in my truck for 12 years here in MN, so I know where you are coming from. That being said, I have never had that problem, in all honesty, once the snow melts, you never have more than a little water in the mats. And it is very easy to grab the mat if you need to and just dump the water out. It also tends to evaporate pretty quickly with the heater blasting in winter. My carpet looks like it just came out of the factory, and I work in construction where my feet are always wet and muddy.

Re: Molded front floor mat recommendations

Sorry to resurrect this thread but I am just curious about something. I am having a hard time finding anyone who sells carpets for the front area of an 02 e350. I saw VWvan has a new carpet under his mats. Did you but that or is it a flat carpet that you cut and molded? Does anyone know where a carpet may be purchased? Thanks.
