Question Rear AC Questions

Hello everyone,

As you can tell from my profile, I am new to the group, and a new SMB owner.

In my van I have a binder full of material. One thing that I can't find reference material for is the rear AC. I have a 93 e250 4x4, and under the fridge is a compressor that, appears to be for the rear AC. However, I can not figure out how to make it turn on. The fridge runs fine, and does not use the compressor.

I can't find material in the binder, and was not successful finding anything on line. Can someone explain the rear AC/thermostat operation to me? I have my rear heater/furnace working, but the corresponding AC unit has me perplexed.

Much appreciated.

Timothy

Search on “Starcool” here on the forum and you’ll find all the info you can handle and then some [emoji3]

Posting some photos of the thermostat, compressor, and evaporator unit will help identify what you have. Do the compressor lines run to the rear evap unit?

I'll post some pics this evening. Looking forward to understanding how this system is set up.

BrianW, I was able to find a great thread on Starcool. Thank you for the suggestion. Its has proven to be beneficial thus far.
