Repair in So Cal

My son accidentally tried to raise our Penthouse without fully unlocking 1 of the safety latches. It broke the wood panel that the latch is attached to. I don't want to drive up to Fresno just for this repair. I was wondering if anyone knows a shop in Southern California that can do a repair for me.

Re: Repair in So Cal

I think there is a shop that does interiors and such for SMB forum members in So Cal.
I thought it was called RV interiors or close to that. I have seen them on Utube and other places
in this forum being listed as alternative places to have tops and interiors done. If I can find the name I will post it here.

One of my hooks got caught on its way up and it didn't do much to the the roof but it did bend the chrome moly bars. After that the top sagged. I had to take it back to SMB where they re-bent them into the correct shape. You might want to take a look at it fully up.

Repair in So Cal

South Bay Car Care is another option.
Hubert is in direct contact w SMB West for parts or questions and should be able to fix as well. He repaired mine some time ago...

Repair in So Cal

Was not to happy with Hubert and the level of service. He did a basic service and oil change and was to send oil in to be analyzed but never did. He does know smb tricks.

I asked Hubert about adjusting the penthouse springs, because it was harder to pop the top after the aluminess rack was installed. He told me he didn't know anything about adjusting the pop, didn't offer to research how to do it and said "you just have to man up and pop the top".

Looking back there were some petty things that irked me my 1st visit there.

Re: Repair in So Cal

Thanks for all the input. Turns out I will be taking a trip to Austin, so I'm just going to get it repaired when I get there.
