Yes I did the mod before I wrote the srticle. I tried it on the Co. work truck, 2006 E-350 PSD. ( a very viable Guinea Pig) Gave it a couple days without incident and only then did I commit to my SMB and the site.
Scatter, Thanks again on the window wiring. That plug is for the trailer brakes and you should have received a Male pigtail with your van. I wired mine up to that and added a 20 amp fuse. I can disconnect it quickley if needed and it has a backup fuse of 30amps. If I install a Brake controller they would use the same harness. I can't possably think of needing the Trailer Brakes at 30 amps and use the windows at the same time except to EJECT. I TRY not to drive with a trailer like that.

Bones, will this wire cutting stop the belt buzzer, too, or just the key buzzer?

I, too, very much dislike the key "reminder" and pulled the dash apart trying to locate the source. The actual noisemaker seems to be enclosed in the instrument cluster itself. At that point of discovery I gave up and decided that I was happy enough with turning off the seat belt ear drill.

I miss the days of pulling the relay to shut those things up, as I used to do in my ol' V-Dubs.

The only option that I can think of is that the dealer may be able to go in the computer to shut it off.

This only stops the key in chime. I haven't gotten into the seat belt buzzer at this time. I just installed the Ford remote start system, had to reattach the key in wire to it but the chime still doesn't Chime. As for the remote start, DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME KIDS. What an ordeal. It is kinda cool starting the van out of my window though. More Later.

I've tried the 9-click routine again today for the seat belt siren, and although the warning light flashing indicated success, the damn thing still chimes with no belt fastened. It's pretty clear in the manual. Perhaps this only turns off the repeating reminder and not the initial one? I just wanna clip another wire, if we knew the location......

Apparently there are two separate seat belt reminder buzzers. The first one is called the Safety belt warning light and indicator chime. The second is called the BeltMinder. The deactivating procedure in the owners manual only stops the BeltMinder which is the repeating reminder. I just completed the deactivating procdure on my 2003 SMB and it worked as the manual said it would. Now if only I could find a way to stop the first buzzer that happens at start up. Have you had any luck with yours? I am also considering cutting the wire for the key in ignition buzzer if it won't effect anything else.

I have in the past , gone to a junkyard and purchased the male portion of the seat belt and just plugged it in to the female portion of the buckle to stop the annoying buzzer .
This might still work the last time I did this was for a 2000 Club Wagon . The buckles are a couple of dollars and kept the system operational if needed .

My experience was the same as John F's. The sequence turns off the repeat reminders, but the first warning is still there.

As to what Greg said the seat belt (large assumption coming) should just be a basic switch, in other words there are wires that either connect with the buckle or are interrupted with the buckle. Snipping or joining to emulate a buckle could be a solution to investigate.
