I did see the testing in progress a couple of weeks ago An RB50 was sitting in the sun on a hot day with the starcool cranked running off a Honda 2000. The van was chilly inside. (I am not sure if it was ok to peek in, but I did)

This sounds perfect to us. We will be carrying a Honda 2000, and if we stop for lunch 2 hours is more than enough time to eat and get back on the road.

I have no idea on the specs for its power consumption.

It is my understanding that as of a month of two ago it was sill in the beta testing phase, so I suspect that there are only a handful that have been installed.

I was also given the impression that it would be ready for prime-time by the time our van was being outfitted... and that would be starting a few weeks from now...

Starcool

Starcool makes alot more sense if it can run on Honda 2000... I wonder if it's

possible to upgrade?.....Mine works pretty well when on 110...

Reading this made me wonder how a small AC unit like a PetCool might work in a SMB. Several teardrop trailers have these installed and they work well for them.

The question is how long would 380 watts run on the battery? While driving, it should be able to run off a 500 watt inverter and power off the alternator.

What is nice is that a 1000 watt generator should run this no problem too. My starcool needs the 2800 watt Microlite and will stall sometimes.

It is also works as 600 watt heater...
