I added a simple lawn mower air filter to the intake. Dirt, dust and mud can't be good for it.

Re: Starting my Espar install...

It's an option and an expensive one if you purchase the Espar filter. After market is the way to go but you must make sure not to use a filter that restricts flow too much or it will code out. I was gonna add one but never got to it. Problems can occur when your tires throw mud and clog the intake tube. Some cap the intake but you need to remember to un-cap it when needed. I also won't drive on dusty roads with the Airtronic or Hydronic running. I think an air filter is a good idea anyway especially in the desert when the sands are churned up in high winds.

Re: Starting my Espar install...

You should check out the front frame stiffener offered by U-Joint. It really tightens up the frame between the rails there in the front.

Re: Starting my Espar install...

I just ordered some parts I was missing to complete my install from Lubrication Specialist. They do have good prices and I also prefer to support vendors that participate on the forum... thanks Greg.

I didn't realize the Espar intake tube was just made of those wannabe cardboard material. Didn't think it'd survive very long. Turns out the Webastos stainless exhaust tube fits perfectly and doesn't cost much more, worth a try!

Cheers
