Water Heater Drain

Trying to flush all the water systems on the SMB I just bought. Cold water easy. The water heater is another issue. I found what looks like the same plug on my travel trailer but it's metal vs plastic. I'm not sure if the previous owner ever drained the heater. The plug is not just tight but STUCK!!! I used a few shots of WD-40, bigger wrench, hit it with the air and finally the impact driver. The plug hasn't budged. My next idea is to hit it with the torch and heat it up. I think its pretty important to get this out so i can winterize my SMB in a couple months, yes it gets cold in South Dakota. Any other suggestions? Am I totally off base on how to drain the hot water system?

Re: Water Heater Drain

It sounds like you are trying to remove the Annode , which isn't a bad idea for general maintainence once or twice a year depending on the amount of useage . If it is like our SportsMobile the Pet Cock is mounted on water line next to the Suburban 6 gallon heater .
