The mirror slides up and right off a plate that stays with the window, no tools needed. You might need a little smack the first time.

Re: Windows blacked out
I like the idea to use packing tape to make "pull tabs" to easily remove the Reflectix panels. I cut panels for all the windows in our van before we left on our trip last month, and was glad we had them along to use in some of the hotter areas we visited.

They sell aluminum tape right along side the reflectix. I used it to piece together my windshield shade... which has a slot for the mirror! (I bought rolls to match the PH height, which is great for everything but the windshield)

Are you using the reflectix to line the PH canvas when it's open?

Re: Windows blacked out
It may be unrelated but the window film on my smaller side door window has failed (bubbled) and I have used a similar reflective material there intermittently. That is the side that faces the sun all the time so not sure if it might be factor. No problem on my side windows where I have Reflectix 100% of the time but then that is not a film on that glass.

Re: Windows blacked out
I got 4-foot wide at a local RV sales place, good for windshield. Home Depot carries 2 ft locally, and can order online. Don't know if you have Home Depot's in SoCal, but any big building supply will have it... unless the State of California knows that it is a carcinogen

Nov, 2008... my lower pieces are starting to degrade enough around the edges that I should be cutting new ones. Five years isn't bad for something that's $25 and cuts with scissors...
