Question for those who've installed these brackets on a SMB with the original brackets that bolted into the sheet metal.

Pulled the awning and brackets off the van yesterday and the original nut-certs have an integrated rubber washer - seems like it is part of the insert - guessing I should I trim it off with a razor blade?? any other install tips other than an extra set of hands? didn't realize how heavy the awning is

Thanks

The brackets work fine with or without stock windows, or CRL windows. If you are still concerned, please post or email a picture of your van, and I will be able to see for sure.

Thanks!

Hi John, others had the the SMB bolted brackets and changed them to these hr ackets to get away from the issues the SMB's were creating. Holes were sealed and, in most cases, the new brackets covered, or nearly covered the holes.

Somewhere, I did a measurement of how far down the middle and rear brackets go. I will see if I can find it. If you look at the very first post in this thread, there are pictures you may be able to use as a gauge.
