There are many different projectors available for retrofit use. I use the mini H1 style as they are the least invasive and have impressive output for their size. The upgrade to this is the fx-r style, but their output hardly justifies the amount of money and time it takes to retrofit them into the housings. I have found great performance from the mini H1 projectors and 55w ballasts that come standard in the kits. Upgrades are available for those who want more.

Scott,
Here are a couple pics of my van that I will be putting your lights in. The lift is roughly 6" and it's running on 35's. I can get an exact measurement to the bottom of the headlight housing if that would help.
Thanks, Kent

That's a slick looking van! The lights area going to look awesome mounted up!

Sneak peek at my recent venture, sealed beam retrofits. Been getting quite a few requests for these and the prototypes look promising!

I expect to have a working set here in the next few days. I have a donor 09 E350 to test them on and if things go as planned, I will be aligned with making them available asap. As with any sealed beam setup, these will be easy to install and adjust and the output will be the same as any of the other retrofit swaps I have done. This should help significantly for those who still want the sealed beam look, but want to actually see down the road at night.
stay tuned...

Here is a look at the sealed beam lights, one with a chrome shroud and one with a black shroud. The all black setup looks pretty sinister, especially for those with Aluminess bumpers and black front end trim components.

I think you probably have already ordered everything for my lights, but is the black shroud an option on my setup?
Thanks, Kent

Kent,
The shrouds can be painted, but I think your van would look killer with the black/chrome look. The reflector area in your setup is still chrome while the outside is black like the set below. We can do what you want though for sure!

Some of the Tacoma guys will black out the entire headlight but I have yet to see someone on here do that. I think it would look pretty good.
