Swivel Seat Base GRP BUY #7

[95 E350 4X4]

OK. I took the stock and original passenger seat on my 95 E350 Diesel 4X4 apart this afternoon and measured all the appropriate holes to see what lines up. I believe that the plate on the bottom is an easy adjust - drill new holes for the smaller template (9.25" width at the front and 7.25" width at the rear, both 11.5" from front to back). Attaching to the seat bottom will be a bit more of a challenge as it is a bigger pattern (the bolt holes that attach to the seat slide are 15 3/8" apart both front and back and are 13 1/8" apart from front to back).
Would the manufacturer lengthen the strapping on the top pieces where the unit attaches to the seat slides (it looks like, from the pictures, that they use 1" metal straps that are just bent appropriately and welded across the ends of the base to create attachment points??) Or make a few 'custom' units for earlier models if there are a few of use with older models? Sorry to be a pain. I would really love one of these if I could make it work...Thanks for your help.

Hi RH, sorry, the manufacturer will not modify what they make. These units are built to a tested design. So, liability risk is not worth it for them to change anything.

You can probably figure out a couple of flat plates to bolt to the existing 'horns" to re- position your seat track mounting holes. Just remember any mods will change the crash performance. Hope that helps.
