Almost Back

Hey everyone,
New to the forum and am loving all the great info and pics.
We had a couple VW Westfalias years ago and after a couple kids are ready to get back into a van - more than likely a e350 of some sort that we can build out to our specs.
Any suggestions on what to look for (or look out for) are appreciated.
Looking forward to going down the rabbit hole.

Thanks!

D

Welcome DB River....

From my limited experience: 3 years+ after purchasing my first van, I'm just now getting to the point of finalizing & pulling the trigger on a DIY interior. Lots of reasons for this, but other than occasionally feeling like I'll be too old to enjoy it by the time I finally get it done, I'm glad I didn't jump into something I'd later regret or want to tear out & re-do.

I guess the main thing I've learned is it truly is a very personal thing. I've gotten tons of great help & suggestions from this forum, have crawled around a bunch of other's rigs, gone to expos, and looked at soooo much "Van Porn" & YouTube videos that I've gone cross eyed . What I found was that it still comes down to how we plan to use our rig most of the time & what's the minimum we need to make that happen. Everything else is gravy...

I can also tell you that along the way, we have spent way more $$$ than we ever anticipated/estimated. Even after scaling things way down from our original plan. That being said, we couldn't imagine a better vehicle to get us to where we want to go & do the things we want to do, in relative comfort.

Good luck with your adventure...
