First trip in the SMB

Hey there,

We picked up our SMB at the beginning of the winter, and as we live in Wyoming haven't gotten to take in on the road, until Spring Break.

After the first trip, we're excited to dial our setup and streamline the setup/breakdown (not much built in storage in our setup and we've got 2 kids tagging along with us).

Probably the top of the very long list would be roof box, galley or other box on back, getting the ladder put back on (a whole other story, ), and improving the bike rack situation with a swing out hitch adapter and probably some 1up bike racks (saw a bunch down in Moab, seem to be the choice for off road use).

I've already gotten good general information from the threads, and look forward to getting more specific now that we've got wheels on the ground, so to speak.

Cheers!

Be carefull offroading with our bike rack. It seems quite long behind, so your departure angle is low and it's gonna be eas to drag it...

Yeah, that's one thing that needs improving for sure. Right now there are 3 of us that have bikes that fit on the rack, and it won't be long until we have a 4th (at least it gets it out of the interior of the van though!). I'd like to get them a bit higher and split up somehow 2 on the hitch and maybe 2 on the front or above a galley box.

I like the look of this rack: MWE Racks, it can raise up the level of the bikes, and also swing out of the way.
