Congrats on the baby...and a van!

My family, wife and two boys under 4, have been playing out of a Ford e-150rb super basic diy for 5 years. We live in Santa Cruz and spend most of our free time at the beach playing and surfing or mountains and biking. We’ve been saving and planning for 6 years and finally are about to start working on an smb and putting down a deposit. We have learned a ton in the current van and had lots of time to think of the needs for new van, I’ve also spent more time than I’d tell my wife reading everything I can on this forum. We’re going mbz 2500 170 4x4. Panel bed up top in back and fold up bunks bellow that.

Babies are babies for a super short time. We had our son at 2months to a year in a bed suspended from doors over driver/passenger seat after that he was too big and was bunking w us in the fold out bed in back, not fun. What I’m getting at is go big. My experience is you can never have enough room in a van w kids. I know it’s the experience camping out of a van, but when changing a poopy diaper in a van at 2 am bent over, it’s an experience I wish I didn’t have.

When are you guys going to smb west?
