Hello!

Hey everyone, well first off, I do not have a Sportsmobile. What I have is a '99 E350 w/ the 7.3 psd, that was converted to 4wd using the t-case, axles, etc, from an 07 F350. I have made a few improvements to it since I purchased it last year. New wheels and tires, a Dometic self supporting awning, rear air bags, diesel tuner, etc. etc.. Now it's time to turn my attention to the interior, and that is why I have come here to lurk around and see what everyone has in their vans. I figured there wouldn't be a better place than here. Cheers!

Kent

Could you please post a little more detail about that awning ??

Is it the model that has legs folded up into the leading edge ??

Thanks in advance,

I did not. The shop checked drive angles, and drive shaft balance, but everything was good. I told them to wrap it up for now, and I will keep rolling as is. Worst case, I can just keep it under 75, which is when it usually kicks in... :-)

No legs on the awning. It's completely self supporting and cranks out in less than 30 seconds. I've been really happy with it so far. Americanrvcompany.com was who I ordered it from, and it came in right around $1k. You can search "Dometic awning wind test" on YouTube for some videos showing it's durability. They also have a 120v power model that has a wind sensor and automatically retracts if needed.

Here's a pic of the passenger side with the awning retracted.
