I've been on here a few times but now am serious about finding my dream rig. Any suggestions would be great. I kind of want to build in order to keep my cost down and get exactly what I want, but if there is a van out there that's all that I want....I'll go for it if price is right. So I don't want some fancy expensive Euro style...older, low miles and set up to live in, or could be. I'm figuring diesel and I'm a bit shy of the 6.0 so if I could find a 7.3, I'd be excited about that. Pop top is plus, I'm in Alaska so 4x4 and heater are a must...as I said I can add things but would prefer not to do whole 4x4 conversion unless its great op. I'm in AK so there aren't van conversion places up here. Anyway that's a start...Thx!!
Welcome to the forum! Great group of people here with lots of friendly, experienced help. I just bought my van and am slowly adding the items I want and need. I am in Virginia and there is a total lack of van conversion companies anywhere close to me ... the closest I know of is in NC.
BTW, I do not know where in AK you are but here is a link to an Alaska van conversion company:
Welcome. 7.3L's can be a challenge to find, but they're out there.
6.0's are great with some modifications, 7.3's will probably have more miles (due to their age), and V10's have a lot going for them. If you're not towing, a 5.4L works for many people. I wouldn't let the engine limit your choices if the right van comes along.
