Hello from Nevada

Hi, I bought a 2014 AWD Chevy Express LT 8 passenger van, I am turning into an expedition vehicle for camping out here in the west. This group was highly recommended.

I have some 4 wheeling experience but this is my first van. My wife and camp and backpack along with kayaking and other outdoors stuff.

I've been searching the web for ideas on my build. I want to keep everything modular so I can swap the seating back in If I need to.

I'm looking forward to getting acquainted here.

Before you get too far on the build make sure that the AWD can handle the terrain and load. We are in Carson City and have a Sportsmobile RB50. Go onto the Sportsmobile web site and look at their interior lay outs. There is a new Sportsmobile shop in Reno near the airport. I was there last year and it looked like they were going to be stocking parts and shipping them from the Reno shop. They do have a van there that you can look at. Best would be to call Peter at Sportsmobile West and set up an appointment to walk through the shop so that you can see how they build the van interiors.

Thanks, we don't plan on anything too far out as far as terrain goes and want to keep the build as light as possible. Thanks for the heads up on the on the Sportsmobile shop. I will stop by.

Question about the swivel seats. Are they DOT certified?
