Question Hello from San Ramon

Hello,

I was wondering if there are any van owners who would like to showcase their vans and talk about their travels at our family owned, brand new shopping center in San Ramon, California. The place is called City Center Bishop Ranch. There are a few Sportmobile fanatics on our staff so this is something we are hoping there is community interest in.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks!

Greetings from Livermore.

I've been browsing this website for a while because I've been a camper van guy for many moons. Lots of good people here.

Would this circle-the-wagons hang out be limited to true Sportsmobile vehicles?

I've been throwing sticks and screws and plastic furniture at my cargo van to see how I'd like different layouts while in tin top mode.

sidenote: ironically, I recently posted about Shout Out NorCal GTG's at various CG's as another form of meet n greet.

Happy trails,
~RL

We were at the Whole Foods adjacent to the City Center this past weekend.

Suggestion, when posting something like this, include the state, in this case California. Members of this forum are everywhere!

Interested, as I am sure several others in the near vicinity will be.

If GTRV are welcome it would be fun to do something. More broadly I would love to see a Van Club if there is.

We have a "Where".... "When" ???

Limited strictly to Sportsmobiles or all 4x4 vans?

Still in MT through the beginning of May, but I'm 'just around the corner' in Oakland when I'm home from University. Not sure if I have any stories interesting enough to warrant telling, but would love to show up if it was a casual meet & greet between employees/staff and forum members.

Edit/P.S. - There used to be a "Cars & Coffee Blackhawk" on the first sunday of each month until 'we' (All the car clubs, never saw any SMB's there) outgrew the parking lot... And of course with the sports car clubs there were always a handful of trouble makers that ruined it for everyone else...

Might be an interesting concept to have a "SMB's & Coffee San Ramon" as a 'first sunday of every month' kind of deal. I wouldn't know how many people would show up, maybe a dozen or two? It would be an interesting SF-Bay Area get together for everyone I think

We had a Meet & Greet out on Alameda last year with about 12-15 vans. Location was on Ferry Point out near the USS Hornet.

Hi Alyssa -

Sounds like you are wanting more of a "presentation" format. Is this to the general public or to a closed audience? Can you expand on what it is you are thinking of?

Thanks and Welcome!

Looks like that trip was a lot of fun whether people were stopping by to say hello or were actually staying the night... But as a university kid going to school in Montana, I can't say that a 2200 mile round trip right in the middle of the semester is feasible...

Chances of something similar/within 75 miles of the bay happening between May and August? I need to do quite a bit of interior work before I'd be willing to camp in mine but I'm Keen to meet a lot of the forum guys(and gals).

What, you can't cut a class or two?

It has to start somewhere. Might lead to everywhere. But once a month GTG's are normal for when groups of like minded people get together. ( I didn't say car club ). Takes time but maybe in the future a common meeting spot on a common night might bear fruit. No worries
