Hello from Texas!

Good day folks! I have been a looker for a while with intentions of one day getting my own rig.
Recently I came across a late 90s sportsmobile that was flooded about 8 years ago so it needs a lot work for sure but the penthouse top is there. If the drivetrain is bad then I might just transfer the top to my other rig.
I have one question; if I was to transfer the top to another rig, how difficult is it to make the frame longer? (Top being fiberglass it should be no problem)
Here are some pics of the flooded van.

Welcome.

Same make of other van? The tops are made for specific makes.

I am sure it is possible, there was one member who completely rebuilt one. It is possible to use a RB top on an EB although you have to look at roof contour. The issue though is more than fiberglass and frame, have to think about the lift and canvas as well. I suppose it depends on the skill of the person doing the work and the level of project wanted.

Someone with more expertise may comment.

Ohh that’s going to be a total custom job if /when I go that route.
I am basically getting ideas now that I know what the penthouse frame mechanism looks like.
Wether I keep the van or not I still want to do a penthouse top n my Volvo TGB13

Wow! That’ll take some time and efforts. Looking forward seeing the built going.
