Hi, Newbie with an Oldie
Hi Everyone,
I've finally taken the plunge (!) and registered as a user after much toe dipping and following this great forum for, oh let's say, 20 to 30 months.
Hubby and I currently have a 1994 dodge 350 EB 10/15-ish, we bought used maybe, 3 years ago, and have really enjoyed using it since. It also has been going through some modifications over time.
A little history might help (if you don't mind). Hubby was a tent camper for years (!) and the last straw was car camping at Lassen. Forgot the canopy (Hubby said, naw, it won't rain.) It rained, no, it hailed! The camp host took pity on us and lent a tarp to cover the picnic table so we could cook and eat dinner, tarp was a bit small but helped...some. We put the fry pan out from under the tarp to clean and collected an inch of water and hail.
The tent leaked, I sopped up inside, he dug moats outside. We agreed, that's it! Hence, our Sportsmobile!
I'll touch on the modifications in the next post, I need to take some pix.

Re: Hi, Newbie with an Oldie
Welcome...too funny. Yes I agree and actually look forward to rainy weather in my SMB now as compared to my backpacking days and a tent. You've got a nice looking rig and I'm sure you love it. I know I enjoy getting out with mine...come on bad weather

Re: Hi, Newbie with an Oldie
Good intro post! Tent camping seems like sleeping-behind-the-dumpster-at-the-bar when the weather really gets crappy.
When the side doors shut and you're all set for the night, well, you already know...

Thanks!
I'll be heading over to "Modifications..." to show what I've been up to.

Welcome! Awesome intro - I'm certain we can expect some more great stories!
