Just got our first "real" van! 2009 E350 ! Was so excited to get new toys but found out today aluminess roof racks are like 3 months out! Is there any other options?

Are you looking for a rack to go on a penthouse roof, or the Ford factory roof? If it's the factory roof, here's a very nice one for sale (no affiliation).

yeah, I think I'm going to do that. Is there a forum section just to ask a bunch of questions that have probably been asked 1000000 times?

This forum’s search feature can be problematic at times to find what you’re looking for...

Sometimes (almost always) it’s easier to use Google search, try to type in

“Your subject” site:Sportsmobileforum.com

Soooo much easier and effective, also this was formerly posted by a much more computer literate member than myself.

I agree on that...much better IMO. I do the same on other forums I visit.

To the OP, if you plan to add a pop top (provided you have the stock roof) in the future, you might want to add that to the plan. Make sure the rack (of your choice) will fit your particular top now and in the future.

I actually had Aluminess make a custom rack for me. For one, I had them build it with smaller tubing to shed some weight and had it ready for LED lighting all around plus the solar panels.

Some of Sportsmobile's RV Life sister forums such as IRV2.com and Winnieowners.com have a built-in "Google Search" box that does this for you.

Sportsmobile should implement it sometime.
