Mighty VanGo

It is your fault … all of you … and we are truly thankful.

A variety of vehicles carried us to trailheads & ski areas over the years. We’ve slept in many of those, from a cramped Datsun 310 to a comparatively spacious GMC Suburban 4x4. The quest for a better travel option lead us to the SMB forum.

Without some education gleaned here, we’d never have felt comfortable flying across the country on Labor Day to pursue (and purchase) a van seen online. The depth of collective knowledge herein is only surpassed by the willingness to share it. Thank you, everyone!

A tip of the hat also to Nancy at SMB North for graciously providing build sheets for a couple leads that didn’t work out & Kassandra at SMB Austin for the one that did.

We'd endorse the van shopping observation seen here: Sometimes one just has to go. Having gone, we’ve looking forward to the rest of the journeys.

Looks nice, It's about the same color as ours but we have a fixed top. It's the best way to travel that we've found. Much better than the travel trailers we had and not near as claustrophobic as the minivans even though we took a minivan to Alaska. Cooking on a camp stove with the mosquitos wasn't a lot of fun. We were much younger and poorer then. If you enjoy your van anywhere near as much as we do ours, you will be very happy with it.

Guilty as charged.

Congrats and welcome. Looks like a nice rig. You'll never sleep in a Datsun again.
