New Member. Building 650whp Ford E350

Hey guys,

I found this site while looking for upholstery kits for my front seats. I own/operate a diesel service and performance shop in Round Rock, Texas. I bought a very clean ( body wise ) 2006 E350 from a customer that could not afford to fix it..

Soooo I looked around the internet and basically found nobody who is building a 6.0 diesel van with any power. I decided to be either the first or just another guy doing the same.

My van will have 225cc / 100% over stock injectors , FASS fuel system , Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator kit, chromoly push rods, fly cut coated pistons, new heads that with heavy duty valve springs that are fire ringed, 250-4025 ARP head studs with ARP rod bolts, after market lifters annnnnnd a Borg Warner 69 SXC turbo with custom piping.

I am waiting on the block to get back from the machine shop and she will get built in the next two weeks. I guess I will start a build thread here soon.

I'm sure there are plenty of folks who would love to see the build here. Tons of 6.0l SMB's out there that are gonna need some next level motor work in the future.

We will be able to see the cloud of black smoke from here. Sounds fun to have that power I just wish they didn't belch out so much fumes.

Interesting that you should choose to build a 6.0 I've only seen one other high performance 6.0, but it was taken to a level hardly suitable for the street. Be sure to post a lot of photos.

Does sound fun! What are you thinking for getting all that to the ground? Any tranny / drivetrain mods? Thinking 4wd??

And how do you plan on managing all that heat in the tiny engine bay? I really liked my 6.0 when I had it. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Cool, I'm subscribed. You won't be the first to build for more power but the van has limitations. 650HP is a lofty goal. You don't have the intercooler to run high power for very long. The airbox is small and tucked in behind the driver side headlight. There is nothing available aftermarket for either. Exhausts mods are also difficult. Good luck getting a 4" pipe past the dog haus. But it sounds like you know what you're doing. With the kind of PCM/FICM tuning you're going to need to light up that turbo it's going to run hot. I'll be interested in your heat management mods.

My rig is about maxed at 400HP with stock injectors, stage 1.5 KCturbo, Atlas40 FICM tune, and 80HP PCM tune from PHP.

If your're good with tuning you can clean up all the smoke no problem.

Those vans only came with the 7.3 and the 6.0 . You can get alot more power out of a 6.0 than 7.3 with this setup. 650-700 whp is easily managed on the street.

Well, traction will be an issue

the stock tranny could take it as long as your rolling into it and not doing a bunch of loaded launches... I'm going to assume there will be a transmission in this soon after..
