New Van Camper here. Chevrolet Express Extended with a Fiberine top. Just met 1der and ordered the awning brackets. Trying to decide which awning to go with. Need a awning that the poles can reach a height of at least 85". About 7 months in on our build. Pictures of Lake Cachuma and the always a favorite, Song Dog Ranch in New Cuyama Ca..

Welcome, from a fellow Central Coast-er! Here's a pic of my van at Figueroa Campground.

I've camped at Ballinger Canyon more times than I can count, but never ventured into Song Dog on the way in, I guess they have Yurts you can rent on the property too?

Anyway, welcome to the group! I'm in Santa Maria, and there's a few more forum members in the SLO and Lompoc areas. I'm hoping to plan another Oceano Dunes SMB forum meetup soon.

Oh nice! Song Dog rents their yurts and campsites on hipcamp .com. Super nice guy runs the camping there. We first camped there in the early 80's when it was just a place to put a tent down. We rode Ballinger Canyon for a number of years when my boys were riding. We were an XR family. LOL

We used to take our Jeep out on the dunes, not for off-roading necessarily but just to kick back with our shade, drink coffee and debate which car would get stuck next. Miss that. Hate to see all the talk of shutting it down.

Cheers,
Jon

I like my Darche 270. Poles get plenty long. Probably would hit 85"+

Welcome to the forum! Far coaster here in Maine. I also had a good experience with 1der, who just shipped me a talon and an awning, and I am just waiting on some Ford brackets that should be arriving by end of May to attach it.

Wow you are about as far from me as you can get within the U.S. Thank you for the welcome! Nice that you have had a great experience with 1der also. What awning are you going with for your E Series? I just received my CVT 99" Pioneer this week.
