New member with '85 E350 6.9L Penthouse pop up top

Hi folks. I'm new here, retired, wanting to refurb the '85 E350 6.9L extended Penthouse pop top I've had since '95. Top has bowed in and holds some water which cascades onto windshield when I brake. Some years back I'd read they don't make the long tops anymore for replacement. I've considered placing sq tube alum crossbar rails across top (4 of them) and flatbar slats inside, then bolting thru to draw top back up flat, then using crossbars as solar panel mounts. Any advice or other ideas from more experienced members pls/thanks?

You should be able to set your time zone by clicking "User CP" near the top left, then clicking "Edit Settings" on the left and scrolling to the bottom.

My top has the same sag. I think over time the pull from the top latches gave it a permanent set, or something.

Welcome. I'm sure you could improve the top, rebuild, repair, etc. It has been done. I have a 2008 with a pop top and it holds some water as well that does the same thing.
