Newbie from downunder

A quick introduction from a down under newbie. I don't own a Sportsmobile but hopefully will; in the interim I have time to look around.

I spoke to SheriffDoug about his EB350 on the other side of this country and yes, the Australian government has almost made it impossible to import any vehicle from overseas with a few exceptions. It's OK if you're a major manufacturer however specialist vehicles like a Sportsmobile, the government really isn't helpful at all.

Anyway I'll most likely pick everyone's brains and search posts to help me decide although I already have an idea of what I want, only time will tell.

I'd like to get over there in 2019 when I retire and tour the USA and Canada, and then bring it back here and tour NZ and Australia. That way it can come into the country as a personal import. In the meantime I've e-mailed Doug, my engineer and Eagle Automotive (NZ).

Welcome Mark, I am also a newbie to this site and am learning a lot from many folks on this site after purchasing a SMB recently.
Being an ex pat Kiwi I do know some of the challenges you guys in OZ go through so good luck to you.
Cheers
Roger

SherriffDoug's tenacity is incredible...buy a van here, have the motor reworked, then off to SMB for in interior and roof, ship to NZ, then converted to right hand drive in New Zealand.......then finally Australia.

The RHD conversion was amazing and made my wallet ache at the same time, perhaps the only RHD econoline anywhere.
