Not as my daily driver. A little vehicle like a suzuki samurai might be fun and might even have some use in the off road market but I doubt it will do very good pulling my bass boat

GTRV

or import something that is like +15 years old, there are several members- some even in good standing!
GTRV (http://www.gtrv.com) is located in Richmond, BC, but they also now have a facility in Sebastopol, CA. They convert Ford, GM, and Sprinter full-size vans as well as Toyota Siennas and Dodge Caravans (and previously Astro/Safari vans). I frequently see GTRV Caravan conversions in the used market, Siennas and Safaris not so much.

Cheers,
Brent (a member, hopefully in good standing)

Re: Newbie question about the Lingo

Good to know about GTRV. Sebastopol is not too far from my current location, well in the grand scheme of things i's' closer than Canada.

I just saw those KEI trucks online -- too much fun, but might be a bit tight with 2 dogs. Are any of them in the US? the ones I saw were in Japan.

My idea is to have the van as a mobile office/workshop, and I have a small teardrop trailer that I could pull and leave in place and use for sleeping as well as cooking. But I'd also like the van to be self contained as well for trips in the winter, when I wouldn't want to pull the trailer. Might as well ask for what you want.

Thanks for all the helpful feedback.

Re: Newbie question about the Lingo

Brent, I've never seen those converted mini vans outside of Canada, except for Jucy-like ones that are now popping up. Does GTRV sell those in the States?

Re: Newbie question about the Lingo

I saw on the GTRV website that they have a plant in Sebastapol, CA.
