Was wondering if there are any SMB owners here in the South Bay area? redondo beach/torrance/hawthorne, los angeles area

I would like to come by and check out the build quality and possibly get a few ideas....

Re: NEWBIE & CHEVROLET VAN CONVERSION

Jeff,

I would recommend checking out this web site: http://s94153639.onlinehome.us/index.html

They do have some harsh words about SMB. It really just points out to get what you want done in WRITING and do a detailed job review BEFORE you drive off. I personally think you should think of the stated delivery date as a "as built review date" and plan on actually picking (and writing the final check) the van up a few weeks later if corrections are needed.

Not everyone's experience with SMB is as "interesting" as was the Badger's, and not everyone lives in their SMB for such an extended period of time nor loads their vehicle to such an APPARENTLY. overloaded extent.
Putting lots of weight on the roof and hanging motorcycles off the ends probably wasn't what SMB was thinking about when they designed their rig.
Issues with after purchase dealing with SMB are another matter and I imagine everyone has a different story to tell.
ALL of my dealings with SMB have been totally Satisfactory, from when they said they would deliver my truck, to addressing the couple of small issues that have arisen subsequently.
