what is "bad" under-carriage rust? is it expected to be this significant on a 10 year old SM? Is this a significant required price reduction to sell? Or is this nothin? and better than most? Tell me about rust forum!

, but , your question is so vague it's impossible to answer ...I'm sure many would willingly provide advise, but at this stage it would more than likely be commentary on how to structure a post so others have a reasonable chance to contribute . What does it take to remove the rust? Can you clean it up with some steel wool or sandpaper? Do you have to go after it with a chipping hammer? Can you poke a drift pin through the frame rails? If it's just surface rust, you can clean it off and treat it with an encapsulator. If it's coming off like pine bark then you're loosing structural integrity. You're going to have to replace metal.
