White Buffalo

I never really introduced myself. After 8 months of looking I found a van and drove it back from out of state last week.

I'm a Mtn and Road Biker, splitboarder/snowboarder, climber adventure type person. My day job has me as a Engineer on a 12 Megawatt 140 meter diesel electric ferryboat.

Thus far I'm sort of drawing on my experience from working on MJ/XJ Jeeps, 24 years working ships, bike suspension, and my degree in Mechanical Engineering. So I'm sort of jack of all trades master of none.

Like my bikes, gear, job - I see this van as a journey and a mechanism to go deeper, further, and higher - simply an instrument of self expression. I feel so fortunate that I bagged this after 8 months... 2002 E350 Quigley 7.3 PSD w/ 21k original miles.

I was either going to name this beast "Magic Unicorn" or "GWB" for Great White Buffalo... I inched it through a herd of Bison in the Black Hills on the way back to WA at night and I've had the Great White Buffalo song stuck in my head ever since. But some how I picture Fu Manchu refreshing it.

Thank you and thank you again for answering all of my question thus far! I have not been on a forum since before social media took off... 10-12 years ago for mtn biking.

Welcome. What part of WA are you in? My wife and I are big into MTN biking as well. A big reason for the van (Kermit) we just bought.

Looks nice!

Now call John at Agile for an RIP kit to tame the Quigley suspension.

I figure the build out (weight added to the rig and suspension loading) needs to happen prior to the suspension tune...

Thoughts?

If you're planning an extensive (i.e. heavy) buildout, probably not a bad idea to wait.

If you're planning a simple layout, no poptop, etc, then you could do that now.

But John's the expert!
