Hey all. Greetings from washington pa. I have a few questions off the batt here. Anyone in the area have a 4x4 ford I can look at? Also whats the deal with the new 2015 classic van from smb? No info on there site. Just a few breif reveiws. Thanks!
When you say "classic" I'm not sure what you're referring to...the Ford cutaway, or the 4x4 Sprinter? Seems the Sprinter has taken over as SMB's limelight vehicle since Ford quit offering the Econoline series. I really thought there would be more of a push for the E-series cutaway project but I don't think its gained much headway yet.
Oh & welcome to the group.

It's SMB's solution to the end of the E-series van. It does look very similar. I mean the prototype looks sweet, but I've yet to hear if anybody has ordered one. I guess most owners just feel the need for a robust 4x4 system capable of running a medium heavy class 4x4 trail isn't an important feature??? Jeesh, it's why I bought an SMB in the first place. And, as much as I've come to except the looks of the Sprinters, SMB needs to do some work to at least get some larger tires under those 4x4 rigs.

I think that first one (fiberglass cutaway) was sold to a guy who started, or at least participates in, the #waterlust hashtag on Instagram. I've been following that guy awhile and pics of it are posted often. Same color, anyway, if there was more than one.
Yes referring to the new cutaway fiberglass body. Didnt know if it was in production or not. Is it even worth me heading to one of the smb shops since there are no more ford vans being made???
Yes, it is worth checking out. I'm sure a call will do unless you're close. SMB West are the only ones doing the cutaway I'm pretty sure. Just FYI, the 3 locations are run separately and have little knowledge of what the other is doing in my experience.
