Dirt roads, which are our life, do a number on the interior. Everything from clothes to spices come of the shelves. We've installed cargo stretch netting on all interior shelving to great benefit.
Mosquito netting with magnets sewn into the edge keeps the nights cool (no need for AC, ever).
An aftermarket high pressure take off from the propane tank allows us to use an outdoor propane stove which folds up quickly and goes behind the driver's seat.

Systems, Solar, & Electronics
Keeping it simple. To reduce headaches we don't have much in the way of electronics. There is no such thing as a microwave or hairdryer to support so our electrical demands are low.
The only real change we've made is the location of the house batteries. The undercarriage mount of the E-350 is completely inaccessible unless you've got a professional garage. We rewired the batteries to be under the rear seat where they can be worked on or tested without employing a hydraulic lift. No doubt there are safety violations here...
