The 4x4 conversion has a heavy duty straight front axel and the back axels on 2008 and newer have heavy duty axels too with 8 lug wheels. Only difference is the back springs

Actually the frame modulus is also different across the three payloads. I used to have a link with the information but it’s dead now.

Sounds like a great deal for someone wanting an entry level 4x4 E series, leave it empty and enjoy it, or build it out as you go. Pics and more detail will help. Good luck with the sale!

FWIW my E250 has a 5.0L. At least one mechanic has remarked he was surprised to see such a small engine in it.
