1973 dodge sportsmobile

Hi everyone
I'v get a 1973 dodge d300 sportsmobile and i have a question? the history that i have found on sportsmobile's says that the penthouse top come out in 1974 but mine is a 73 and i have seen (on here) a very nice 72 ford van. so what is the deal?

The penthouse has been around a lot longer than that, at least since the early 60's.

Just curious... I bought a 73 Dodge van new back then and it was a "B-100" as I recollect. What was the "D" line about? Ha - I still remember the license plate - CA 275-HKJ. How weird is that?
