Re: 2001 Ford E350 V8 7.3 Power Stroke Diesel vs Pre-sale In

Thanks for your input guys.

At the end I didn't feel comfortable buying this Van, the more I looked at it in person the more I found things that made me want to bail out, the van is simply to old, rusted and out of shape.

This is where I'm at right now :

DIY conversion build, extended 2010 Ford 5.4L E250 + high top, from Montreal Canada, new to all this so please be patient and clear with me (never built or camped in a van yet)

If you take it to a Ford dealer ask them to check it over for a TRIP?? belts hoses brakes leaks u joints coolant condition oil in coolant in oil??? White Grease under the oil filler cap??? Normal stuff you can see.. Its the things you cant see?? On a gas engine you can do a compression ck on a diesel you can take an oil sample, but compression test is expensive. If a diesel engine has good power and doesn't smoke sounds normal runs smooth and the oils clean its got life left. If it runs rough dont touch it!! A burnt piston cost thousands on 7.3 HI or should i say new engine $6500 + Labor Good Luck ......
