Yes, this is the one with the alleged transmission issue and the alleged hand crank top.

The transmission problem actually belongs to a Ford F-250, not my van, so no transmission issue. RallyPanam looked it over for Ramsey, drove it and said it looks fine.

Hat-tip to both of them. RallyPanam for passing along his opinions after he checked it out, and Ramsey for being gracious enough to give me another shot at it. We were both interested, but I backed off at first when my trade came in low, then being in Mexico complicated things for him. (I'll kick in some thank-you bucks for Jage once we've got 'er home.)

The way it's looking now is that my sister and I will fly out during MLK weekend, pick it up and drive back, with probably stops in ABQ and Laughlin. Overnight lows for ABQ are in the mid-20s, so I'm not sure we'll be staying in the van.

Hubs has to work, so no fly/drive roadtrip for him.

We're looking at a shakedown trip to Sequoia later on in spring, then a summer trip to Tahoe, followed by either Glacier or the Olympic Peninsula.

More updates:

Spoke to SMB TX. They installed the PH with a bed in 2012. RallyPanam says there's no bed now, so something must have happened to it. No biggie. We can buy or DIY one.

The dealership declined our request to have someone pick us up at the airport. Granted, it's 35 miles away but that seems...inhospitable. Guess I can't complain since the price is so low that the 2 year old PH is free. (Seriously, this thing is a steal, and that's not just paint on the rocker panels. It's bed liner or somesuch, and it's on part of the undercarriage, too. Check the texture in the pics.)

Finance manager called us, said he could beat our interest rate (3.49%) if we let him shop around, so we did. He came back with 3.05%, maybe another half-point off for auto-debit. Guess that'll pay for the shuttle ride from the airport.

They're Fed-Exing us the papers. Should have them tomorrow if they made the deadline, Wednesday if not.

I'm saving my ecstatic happy dancing until after we review the paperwork. We've found "gotchas" in there before.

Yes, it's black rhino liner type stuff on the rockers, and white on the first 8-10 inches of the hood.
