3rd Gen Fords 1975-1991

These are seller's pictures. There doesn't seem to be a central thread on this site with photos of these boxy beauties. Anybody want to post theirs?

Re: 3rd Gen Fords 1975-1991

A little backstory: David Muncie, a buddy whom I used to ski with got brain cancer and passed away within 4 months of diagnosis. He gave me this van. He told me he was giving it to me before he died but I told him I didn't want it. He said no, that I did want it, I just didn't know it yet. So, when his wife told me to come up and get it afterward, I did. And I drove it for a couple of years and got excited about the whole 4x4 mini RV van concept.

I think of him when I get into my current van and laugh to myself about arguing with him about his bequest, and that instead he should sell it so his wife and family could keep the money. He won that argument. And I'm glad he did.

Since then, I have gotten married to a skier and kayaker and she and I have traveled to ski, kayak and windsurf over the Western United States and Canada in my current 4x4 van. So, he taught me to listen, because sometimes other people know things about what will make you happy that you, yourself, can be oblivious to.

Thanks David.

What a fine story. Even better than all the pictures!

The 2nd and 3rd pic are Larrie and Zaskoda respectively. They are both forum regs for the most part, you'll see them posting neat mods on their vans from time to time.

Great story. You are might about others knowing us better than ourselves at times.

One of these days I will have time to post some more photos of my rig.
