Accelerator hardly working, check engine.

Just barely rolled safely into Monticello Utah. Accelerator hardly working, like it's sort of stuck, I push on it and there's an unpredictable delay of a few seconds econds before it works, dangerous in traffic. Check engine light also came on. Sitting in city park fogurong next move but at least have a place to stay! Any thoughts?

Also check for an air leak past the mass air flow sensor, which is just past the air filter. -- This will eventually set a code and light up the check engine light, but lack of power is the first sign.

Ford in Moab did diagnostics, cleaned air filter and mass airflow sensor. Sure hope that did the trick. Back to the mountains and the hunt. Thanks for everyone's input! Awesome forum!
