I just unplug the battery half an hour before I pulled it turn the ignition on to make sure there was no residual energy left in the van unbolting it from the preview steering wheel the airbag used to see exact same connectors on both clock spring so it just plugged it back in.

EDIT: 700-mile trip today so far it's worked flawlessly through all the mountains of West Virginia and Pennsylvania I'm so glad I got it working so my right foot didn't fall off!!

WOW that is some serious reworking. How did you resolve the break switch issue?

so i installed the CC clockspring, steering wheel, and brake pressure sensor (but not not screwed into the master cylinder yet, although it is a normally closed switch, so as long as it is plugged in, it should work.)

mine will not activate. i have driven my van 9,000 miles since December, and would love to get this working!

any ideas?

So when you hit your break it does not disengage the cruise control? does your master cylinder have a port for it? mine does not so I will either have to put a inline T on the break line or replace the master cylinder

sorry totally missed that it is not working yet. I have read you may have to take it to the dealer to turn it on in the computer.

luckily there is a dealer about 5 blocks from my house. i'll try that. thanks!

My pedal switch is already there (turns on lights)

The pressure sensor is missing off this version of the brake master...however years of wrenching on blue ovals has made some wiring diagrams and plugs burned into my brain..I saw this booger hiding and knew it was one of the 2 that ford uses on brakes..jumped it out..viola!!

Did you confirm continuity thru the pressure switch?? If the switch needs residual to prove pressure (which it should..otherwise the circut would would only give a fault if it sensed pressure..which is what brakes are supposed to do)

I would jump that out..or confirm the sensor has continuity...you gotta make that circuit for the ECU to say its safe to engage cruise control
