Any opinions on the roof vent?
I searched the archives but didn't see a topic on the roof vents.
I have an SMB on order and I am reviewing a few of the options. I am looking to use your experience to help me decide if they are worthwhile.
Did anyone choose the 6" roof vent option? Its $288 and would be located on the PH top. I am ok with the price if the vent really help circulate the air.
As a point of background information, I am up in the Pacific NorthWet and some of you may have heard that it can get a little rainy up here:-) We are getting the awning windows and just trying to increase circulation inside after a wet day of hiking.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

With the amount of windows in the PH, and the side windows in the body of the van, we get plenty of ventilation. For hot, muggy nights in the summer we have Endless Breeze window fan from the makers of Fantastic Vents:

The fan fits in our slider windows and works great on the rare occasions when we need more ventilation.
I guess I'd rather not add a potential leak to the PH top.

I have an EB and there was enough space forward of the PH that the PO installed a fantastic fan. I like having it. Not sure enough to have put one in the PH (necessary on an RB)...
If you decide to go with the vent definitly have SMB install it (and make sure the warranty covers it lifetime-for-leaks as well).

Roof Vent
I had a fantastic fan/vent in my former motorhome. They sure move a lot of air, but I felt that I didn't need one in my SMB. Haven't been in any hot weather with it yet.....

Roof Vent
The Industry RV standard for roof vents is 14" x14" and while managing a large RV store for Winnebago , Air Stream and Bluebird some years ago I can tell you that the single most damaged and hopefully replaced were roof vents . The reason that the RV industry chose this size vent was for ease of repair and replacements . I really would be surprised if a 6"x6" vent would make any noticeable difference in your need for ventilation . I personally would not take the chance of any additional holes/leaks becoming part of my maintenance routine . The fans that have been described do move a lot of air and would get my vote . Good luck

Anyone have any photos of how their Fantastic Fan fits in the slider windows?
We bought an Endless Breeze fan from Fantastic Fan, after much local searching and a second trip to pick it up after they had brought it in from San Antone...
....but it no fit !
It works wonderfully well, but it won't fit where we expected it to.

Mark, I have the vent/fan in the PH roof. I've had the van 6 months and I've never turned it on. Now that I think of it, I don't know where to turn it on! I live at the bottom tip of Texas.
