I spoke with John K at SMB, and he said that it was normal for the center of the top to sag a bit.

That's what I love about SMB... WTH does "sag a bit" mean and when does it stop being normal?

whenever i am ready to order my smb (target date: 2009, fingers crossed) i will specifically stipulate that that roof be dead flat and not hold water IN WRITING on the purchase contract

IMHO, too much flexing of fiberglass weakens the integerity of the structure, again, IMHO ONLY...

i have never seen flexing with a fiberglass boat hull, on a fiberglass bike, or fiberglass panel on a vehicle.
going further, never seen a fiberglass raised roof on a van with a sag in the middle.....

maybe we should run a poll on who has a smb (penthouse) roof with a sag in the middle....to see what is the norm?

Start a new topic and you have the option to make a poll.
